​Kardell has more than two decades of experience in the motion picture industry, specializing in location scouting and production supervision across Southern California and Oregon, with a focus on the Portland Metro area and southern Oregon.  He is affiliated with unions such as Teamsters Local 399 and 305, Location Managers Guild International (LMGI).  His credits include notable films such as The Visitor (2007), Made of Honor (2008), Knight Rider (2008), You Again (2010), and the action-comedy spoof Superfast! (2015), as well as various other projects in which he has contributed to the logistical and creative aspects of location-based filming.

Kardell is also active in regional film promotion, serving on the board of Klamath Film, where he supports efforts to develop film production opportunities in southern Oregon.  He maintains a presence in both Los Angeles and Oregon, continues to freelance on independent film and commercial projects, leveraging his experience to support productions in the region.

Through his consultancy, LocationsLA, Kardell provides a range of services, including location scouting, production support, photography, event planning, permitting assistance, and liaison services for film and event properties.
